Calm, Clear and Courageous - Mindfulness for the Cancer Society

Calm, Clear and Courageous

Whether you are navigating cancer yourself, or supporting someone who is, your wellbeing matters. Mindfulness tools teach us to reduce stress, develop self-awareness and self-compassion, and live a life of connection, presence, joy and meaning.

Each month we will explore a particular area of practice, offering practical, down-to-earth and valuable tools to support you and those around you. You are welcome to attend any session, any time. Each class will include some guided instruction and practice that you can take home, and time for questions and sharing.

No funny postures. No experience necessary. All welcome!

These classes are for people registered with the Cancer Society.

They will run on the first and third Monday of each month from August - November, 1pm - 2pm

with an introductory session on Monday July 20th.

Please contact Cyndy Smith for more information.

Calendar of Classes :

All classes run from 1pm - 2pm. Please arrive 5 minutes early to get settled.

Monday July 20th - Introductory Session “Start Where You Are” - Laying the foundations for strength-based mindfulness practice.

Monday August 3rd, Monday August 17th - “At Home in the Body”

In Sessions 1 and 2 we will practice growing a friendly connection with our bodies, especially when we are going through hard times. Learning to be present in the body reduces stress, and lays the ground for calm, clarity, and courage each day. We will learn simple, practical, and effective ways to find a steady anchor in any situation. By finding safety and ease in the body, we can grow an authentic and kind relationship with ourselves, and with the world around us.

Further Classes will be held on

Monday September 7th and 21st

Monday October 5th and 19th

Monday November 2nd and 16th
