Family life is demanding on every level. It can sweep us up in its constant push and pull, where tending to our inner lives and the deeper impulse towards freedom is often put off for later.
And yet there is nothing like our concern for our families and children to deeply motivate us towards healing and liberation, not only for ourselves, but for all present and future generations.
How can meditation practice and a deep commitment to contributing to a healthier, saner world share space with the joy and chaos of family life?
And how can we learn to not see them as separate in the least, but as part of the same precious life’s opportunity that we have, right here, right now?
Life As It Is offers families a unique chance to pause, to sink into connection with each other and the earth, to feel into and attend to what is most important in our lives.
Together we will practice how to weave our inner and outer lives together, infusing them with our deep heart of aspiration for ourselves and for our world. We will be supported by the teachings of Buddhadharma – insights and methods that are as relevant today as ever – that help us build confidence, contentment, and the capacity to meet with whatever arises with our whole being. In this way we find true refuge right here in the lives that we have, supporting and strengthening ourselves, our children, and all beings with whom we share this Earth.
The weekend will consist of group practice time, fun and explorations, children’s activities and space to be immersed in the oasis of calm that the Centre and the whenua offers.
The weekend is facilitated by Louise Petzold, Chani Grieve, and Louise Perzigian who are all committed practitioners weaving the deepening enquiry of dharma with family and community life.
Children’s activities will be facilitated by Nyima Petzold.
