Life As It Is offers families a unique chance to pause, to sink into connection with each other and the earth, to feel into and attend to what is most important in our lives.
Together we will practice how to weave our inner and outer lives together, infusing them with our deep heart of aspiration for ourselves and for our world. We will be supported by the teachings of Buddhadharma – insights and methods that are as relevant today as ever – that help us build confidence, contentment, and the capacity to meet with whatever arises with our whole being. In this way we find true refuge right here in the lives that we have, supporting and strengthening ourselves, our children, and all beings with whom we share this Earth.
The weekend will consist of group practice time, fun and explorations, children’s activities and space to be immersed in the oasis of calm that the Centre and the whenua offers.

DID YOU KNOW ??
Individual and Organisational wellbeing are inextricably linked. Your organisation is only as healthy as your employees are. Supporting mental health is everybody’s responsibility.
If you would like to invite me to come to your workplace to offer a Mindfulness Session specifically tailored to support the mental health and wellbeing of your staff, please get in touch here.
This annual retreat, now in its 11th year, is an opportunity for anyone wishing to develop or refresh a regular meditation practice in a supportive retreat environment.
Together we will study and practice the meditation on breathing, one of the oldest and most effective practices known, that has been taught and practiced continuously since the time of the Buddha. The practice is founded on, and naturally supports, a commitment to living an ethical life. It is designed to lead us gradually and skilfully from wherever we are right now, to the full experience of healing and freedom made possible through meditation.
This morning of communal practice and enquiry offers a sanctuary of presence - to drop underneath the waves, to digest what we've been navigating, and to discover the rich source of stillness, creativity, and regeneration in the depth of our being.
Being together gives a weight, an anchor, for our hearts and minds to find their way to remembering our sanity, our clarity, and our love.
This workshop is for anyone wishing to bring deeper presence, connection, clarity and harmony into their communication and relationships with self and others. It is also for those who are motivated to bring these qualities into our communal, social, and societal spaces.
Through gentle guided movement, meditation, individual and shared enquiry, transparent and compassionate communication, we will be learning and practicing skills to embody the kind of world we wish to create and live in - to heal divisive and harmful separations within and between individuals, to bring awareness and love into spaces of difficulty, and to be part of a global healing movement contributing to ecosystemic change on a deep level.
Together we will learn how to develop, refine and apply embodied listening in our personal, professional and community lives.
The workshop will run as two half-day immersion sessions, with time for integration in between.

Six Month Online Program: Honest Conversations About Death and Dying
Hosted by Wendy Haynes and Chani Grieve
Through honest, generous and inspired conversations and practices, with no set beliefs or agendas, we will talk about death, dying and what’s important to each of us. We will meditate, write, talk, listen, be quiet. We will play, be serious, research, discover and listen deeply to find out what’s alive in us. This is not a death doula training although some people are inspired to undertake further training in this field. This course is for everyone, young and old, in prime health or facing terminal illness – everyone is welcome.
Join us to reflect, research, discover and listen deeply to find out what’s alive in us; and learn from those who’ve gone before, many teachers on this path and the wonderful people who are part of these groups.
Move Slowly. Connect. Breathe. Listen.
Come and be deeply nourished by the gifts of nature, quietude, mindful presence, and community.
This family-friendly morning of guided nature walking, contemplation, and gentle company offers time and space to receive the abundant support and insights that nature and our own inner wisdom have to offer.
We will quietly wend our way through the beautiful and restorative environment of the Brook Waimārama Sanctuary, pausing frequently to notice, to listen, and to appreciate our ever-changing inner and outer landscapes. We will savour morning tea in the forest, opening our senses, enlivening our awareness. Towards the end, we will have a chance to reflect with each other, and share any insights or gifts we may have received on our walk. The morning concludes with a community gathering and picnic in The Glade.
